Further to my post The True Meaning Of Pharma Christmas I just thought I’d share with you a little notion that’s been on my mind for several years, in fact since I first began to mock the anti-vax fuckwits and their absurd and dangerous paranoid conspiracy theories.

What if the anti-vaxxers were all secretly, and perhaps unknowingly, working for Big Pharma?  After all, what better way to increase sales and profits than to sponsor a cult dedicated to refusing and banning the cheapest, safest way to prevent terrible diseases?  The tiny profits from a vaccine dose are vastly outweighed by the huge costs of medical treatment of the disease the vaccine prevents.  If the disease results in hospitalisation then the minimum sales of therapeutics and equipment runs into many thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of times the cost of the vaccine.  If I were the unethical (and the aver’s all affirm the companies are entirely immoral) CEO of a pharmaceutical company intent on increasing profits, I’d be pouring money into the anti-vaxx cranks.
